Naperville Chargers Equipment Distribution

As we approach the first day of practice on August 4th, I wanted to update you with a few things that you will need to know prior to coming. I am planning on being at the field an hour prior to practice to hand out any remaining equipment and fit those who are still in need of being sized.

Pop Warner rules state that each player needs 10 hours of conditioning prior to contact. With that being said, the first week of practice you will need to bring the following: Helmet w/ mouth-guard, shoulder pads w/ practice t-shirt or jersey, shorts, cleats and plenty of water or Gatorade.

*EQUIPMENT UPDATE*

1. Helmets - If you are waiting for your new helmet or a reconditioned helmet, I will have these at the practice field on the first night prior to the start. If you have a helmet, please tighten all the screws on your child's helmet. This is very easy to do by using a phillips screwdriver.
2. Mouthpiece - Please make sure your child has a mouth-guard with a strap and it is attached to the face-mask (This is a Pop Warner rule).
3. Shoulder pads - If you need shoulder pads, I will have those available for pick up the first night of practice. If you have your shoulder pads already, please tighten shoulder pad straps so pads fit snug with minimal movement. If you want to tape down the straps please use athletic tape or a cohesive athletic tape.
4. Practice pants & Girdle - Please make sure you have a pair of practice pants and a girdle prior to the first night. These can be purchased at Play it Again Sports, Dick's or Sports Authority.
5. Practice Jersey - I will have the practice jerseys available to hand out the first night of practice. Please have your child come the first night with another t-shirt or jersey just in case their is an issue with delivery.
6. Cleats - Please make sure you have a pair of rubber football cleats prior to the first night. These can be purchased at Dick's or Sports Authority.

*UNIFORM UPDATE*

1. Game Jerseys - I will be passing out game jerseys in mid August prior to certification. I will update you as we get closer to that date.
2. Game Pants - I will be passing out game pants in mid August prior to certification. I will update you as we get closer to that date.
3. Game Belts - I will be passing out game belts in mid August prior to certification. I will update you as we get closer to that date. **NOTE: On the belts, these are nylon and can be cut to length. To keep the ends from fraying you will need to take a lighter or match and melt the end of the belt briefly.
4. Game Socks - Each player will be responsible for their own game socks. I will update this as we get closer to the first game via email or through either your coach or team mom.
5. Helmet Decals - If you have your helmet from last year, please remove your old decals as we are changing to a new look this year. I will be placing the decals on helmets by division prior to the first game.

*SPIRITWEAR UPDATE*

1. Clothing - I will have the spiritwear order sheets available to pick up and place orders starting the later part of the first week of practice.
2. Car magnets and window decals - These are going to be sold by the trailer starting the later part of the first week of practice. You can pay via check made payable to Naperville Chargers.
